Whether you’re an all-out Christmas fanatic who starts celebrating in June… Or you’re more laid back with only one or two traditions (and after December 1 thank-you very much). There’s good news for you! Victoria, BC has a Christmas time activity for you!

Grab an eggnog or a mug of spiced apple cider and blast your favourite Christmas music, because it’s that time again!

11 Don’t-Miss Events This 2017 Christmas:

  1. BC Children’s Hospital Festival of Trees

    Check out the 26th annual Festival of Trees. It’s a Christmas wonderland! Walk through the forest of Christmas trees decorating the Bay Centre and vote for your favourite. This event supports the BC Children’s Hospital.

  2. Habitat for Humanity Gingerbread Showcase

    Gingerbread houses are a classic Christmas tradition. In this showcase, both professional and amateur bakers will compete for the best gingerbread house and they go all out. 1st 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded at the kick-off event on Thursday, November 16. If you miss it, don’t worry! You can still catch the displays from November 18 to January 2. You’ll even get the chance to vote for the Public Choice award. Votes can be made by voluntary donation.100% of all donations support the Habitat for Humanity’s efforts to make decent, affordable homeownership available to local families in need. Last year, more than $50,000 was raised!

  3. Christmas Craft Sale & Silver Bells Silent Action

    Still searching for that perfect gift? Check out the Christmas Craft Sale & Silver Bells Silent Auction. They have over 25 vendors, not to mention the plethora of items up for bid. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet Santa!

  4. Island Farms Santa’s Light Parade

    Check out the annual Island Farms Santa’s Light Parade with floats, bands, and entertainment! After the parade, Santa will officially declare Christmas open in Victoria! Meet in Centennial Square if you want to catch it! Refreshments will be provided by Island Farms.

    Donations go to the Mustard Seed Food Bank.

  5. Christmas Craft Beer Show

    The 2nd annual Christmas Craft Beer Show will be at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. This is your chance to sample local seasonal product from a multitude of micro-breweries just in time for the holidays! This is a 19+ event.

  6. Annual Truck Light Convoy and Food Drive

    It’s the 19th annual Truck Light Convoy and Food Drive! Trucks fabulously decorated with lights and decorations will begin at Ogden Point and slowly drive down to the Western Speedway. Don’t forget to bring a non-perishable donation.

  7. Annual Carol-Along with the Carillon

    Bring your friends and join this 11th annual carolling party! Rosemary Laing, provincial carillonneur, will lead the Newcombe Choir. To make this classic holiday tradition even more perfect, hot chocolate and cookies will be available.

  8. Z-MAS: An Improvised Zombie Movie

    If you’re looking for a different twist to the holiday season, check out this improvised show about a Christmas zombie apocalypse.

  9. Yellowpoint Christmas Spectacular

    Music, dance, lights, and decorations! It’s the 11th annual Yellowpoint Christmas Spectacular. No matter what your favourite musical style is, there’s something for you! Not only will they preform musical tributes to The Beatles, Nina Simone, and Rod Stewart, but there will be performances from Mary Poppins and Top Gun, a country medley, classical hits, and, of course, a ton of Christmas favourites!

  10. A Rock’n’Roll Christmas: The Killer, Cash, and the King

    Based on a serendipitous event that took place back on December 4th, 1956 when a spontaneous jam session broke out between the legends. This night pays tribute to those three: Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley. Music from the original night as well as some of their other hit songs all combined into 90 minutes of rockabilly, country, and 1950’s rock and roll.

  11. Horse Drawn Caroling Rides

    Do you love Christmas music? Us too! This is an activity for the whole family! Book a seat and climb aboard their horse-drawn carriage and sing to your heart’s content. This classic tradition is available just before Christmas, but be sure to book your ticket before they run out of room!
