Christmas at Butchart Gardens

The world-famous gardens sparkling with millions of colorful lights are a sight not to be missed! Put on your coat and mittens and wander through the breath-taking display, enjoy a hot chocolate and toast your toes by the fire, or go for a skate on the romantic out-door ice rink.

37th Island Farms Santa’s Light Parade

Kick off the holiday season Victoria-stye! This family-friendly, free event is beloved for good reason. Christmas lights, music, and Santa himself handing out free cookies and milk will have even the Grinch smiling! The parade starts at 5:00pm, with the official Lighting of the Square at 7:00. For an extra bit of holiday fun, bring your little ones to the iconic Empress Hotel between 2:30-4:00 for cookie decorating and hot chocolate. Admission is to this event is one canned good per child to benefit Victoria’s food bank. The parade is free!

An old-fashioned, Victorian Christmas experience in Victoria! Traditional decorations, vintage toys and live music recreate the seasonal splendor of days gone by. The breathtaking beauty of Craigdarroch Castle comes alive with the magic of the season.

Gingerbread Showcase 2018

Gingerbread tree forts, marzipan couches—it must be the Gingerbread Showcase! Professional and amateur bakers from around Vancouver Island showcase their creative and delicious talents in this fanciful holiday tradition. All proceeds raised go to support Habitat Victoria, so it’s fitting that the theme for 2018 is “There’s no place like home”.
