NATURE AND PSYCHE: The Intersection of Plant Wisdom and Personal Transformation

Two Day Weekend Workshop: JUNE 8 – 9, 2019

Restoring balance and wholeness to the individual and community is an integral aspect of shamanism. This weekend workshop will emphasize ways in which to weave traditional teachings with western culture in both psychedelic experiences and in daily life practices.Drawing upon our knowledge in traditional ayahuasca shamanism, we will explore various methods for cultivating intention, the value of integration practices and the usefulness of navigation and protection tools when exploring the potential of psychedelics in the context of healing. With the objective of building a strong intention, participants will be invited to engage in a process of self-inquiry through creative exercises and heart-centered exploration. The importance of connection to self, nature, ritual, and community in relation to nurturing transformational experiences will be discussed and experienced through group dynamics and ceremonial practice. We will also examine the fundamental principles and importance of sustainability for both participant and the practitioner and introduce unique methods of building protection through active meditation and visualization for safety and empowerment. This workshop would benefit individuals who are seeking health and personal development, healing arts practitioners, artists, health care providers, body workers, clinical counsellors or therapists, psychotherapists.

Cvita Mamic is a healer artist and co-founder of Nihue Rao Centro Espiritual Ayahuasca healing center in Peru with Dr. Joe Tafur and Maestro Ricardo Amaringo. Cvita’s journey with plant medicine began in 2009 while searching for personal healing. Her experience working with the Shipibo lineage of plant medicine was profound and compelled her towards an 8-year immersion with Amazonian plants and shamanism. She believes deeply in the potential that plant medicine offers for personal healing, learning, and transformation.

Markus Drassl has been working with plant medicine for the last 9 years. After his degree in visual arts in 2009, he went for a healing experience with master plants to an Ayahuasca center in Iquitos, Peru. From there he decided to dive deeper into this medicine work, seeking more healing and learning. In 2011, he began an apprenticeship with Maestro Ricardo Amaringo and began working at Nihue Rao as a facilitator and practitioner in ceremony. Markus works as a visual artist. His art is based on the connection between plant medicine, healing, transformation, and visual art.
