Yoga Studio at The Lodge at Weir's BeachYoga, from the sanskrit “Yuj”, translates into the word “union”. Yoga, therefore, is a union of body and mind, of the physical and energetic, of the oneness with Spirit. Developed thousands of years ago, the science of yoga is a means to realize our true potential, regardless of age, race, sex or religious beliefs. The vision of yoga is a technique that teaches us how to be in the present moment. This new level of consciousness evolves through yogic practices aimed at developing an ever-increasing awareness of our various levels of experience.

Marg Lachmuth is a certified Yoga teacher who has practiced yoga for many years. Her Vinyasa Yoga classes integrate breath, alignment, awareness, flexibility and strength in a flowing sequence of postures ranging from meditative to rejuvenating.  Classes will provide a gentle introduction to a Vinyasa Flow yoga practice and will accommodate beginner students.

Spring Hatha Yoga

8 week class series of Hatha Yoga from Apr 11-May 30 on Thursdays at 9:30am – 11:00am. This class is held in the beautiful yoga studio at the Lodge at Weir’s Beach, a B & B in Metchosin with a gorgeous garden and oceanfront view. What is Hatha Yoga? It is a traditional yoga system that includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), which help bring peace to the mind and body, preparing the body for deeper spiritual practices such as meditation. It is gentle, slow and great for beginners or

students who prefer a more relaxed style where they hold poses longer. All levels and beginners welcome! This class is designed for both strengthening and cleansing energy in the Spring season with Ayurvedic wisdom and practices. Tap into underworked parts of your body, discover patterns of holding tension, and stretch tight muscles to create ease and balance in the body. What are the unique features of my classes? I am a certified Yoga Therapist, and offer Thai Massage & Cranial Sacral hands on assists while you practice:) Small group classes allow for me to help you with safe alignment and individual support for you. I offer a Trauma Sensitive approach to Yoga, and private sessions for Yoga Therapy.
